Dean of Film School ( Directeur de l’Ecole de Cinéma)

Pour un Sourire d’Enfant (PSE) – For a Child’s Smile is a non-profit organization founded by Christian and Marie-France des Pallières, operating in Cambodia since 1995.
Its mission is to help children suffering acute hardship by reintegrating them into society and leading them to decent, skilled and well remunerated jobs.

Recognized by the local authorities, PSE is working with full respect of the country, with the Cambodians, and thus supports sustainable development.

PSE is operating six main programs :  nutrition, healthcare, protection and accommodation, general education, vocational training and family support.

PSE is taking care of more than 6,000 children and more than 4,000 graduates from PSE Vocational Training program already have successfully integrated the job market with a real qualified position.

PSE employs more than 600 people in Cambodia (Phnom Penh mainly) and 4 staff at the headquarter in France.  300 volunteers in different countries are actively working on making the organization known, on fundraising donations and sponsorships.

In 2000, PSE was awarded the French Human Rights Prize by the French Republic.

 

Manage PSE Film School. Serve as the chief administrator of the section in developing and implementing policies, programs, curriculum activities, and budgets in a manner that promotes the educational development of each student and the professional development of each staff member.

 

Mission :

  • Strategy of the content taught inside PSE Film school, always make sure the contents taught inside Film School are relevant to the market needs
  • School Development: look for opportunities of new trainings, new skills, new pedagogy to make sure Film School is connected to PSE beneficiaries. Develop and maintain good relationships/communication with the Cambodian Market (companies) and with our foreigner’s partners and European donors.
  • Curriculum development: build lessons, look for experts’ support, find partners
  • Staff management: training, motivating, guiding, supporting, assessing, recruiting
  • Ensure the success of the students in their studies: follow up, support slow learners
  • Budget management: make sure the school has enough budget to run their operations and purchase equipment
  • Infrastructure & Equipment: make sure the school has the necessary needs in terms of infrastructure and equipment to run their operations, staying within the reality of the budget
  • Project management: select the projects to which the school will participate, prioritizing the benefits for Film School and/or their students
  • Administrative work: report the school activities and actions to PSE management, annual reports, join PSE meetings,
  • Quality Assurance: Develop and maintain good level of quality assurance,
  • Problem solving: find solutions to the everyday life problems
  • Communication: promote PSE through audiovisual coverage of event happening inside PSE, make PSE shine through significant public actions such as festivals, news, social media contents

 

 

Expériences / Formation

  • Bachelor Degree or master degree in Film, Communication, Education, Business Administration, or any other relevant fields
  • 3 to 5-year experience in managing teams, especially in Education/Schooling sides
  • Very good interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
  • Very Good English level (French is a plus)
  • Knowledge of MS Office, Google Applications and e-communication
  • Very good in planning, follow up, organizing and coordinating
  • Comfortable to work in a multicultural environment
  • Film Production Management
  • Be able to manage a team
  • Be able to make decision on HR and Finance
  • Be able to coordinate and lead the school’s activities and projects
  • Be able to identify the instructor’s training needs, to stay connected to the film Sector’s needs
  • Commitment to PSE’s vision, core values and code of conduct
  • Policy compliance and protection of children
  • Patience, adaptability and ability to cope with change process.
  • Ensuring timely, high quality results. Being a role model for continuous learning and improvement

Salaire

Possibility of VSI contract for European Union Nationals, providing comprehensive coverage for healthcare, assistance/repatriation insurance, pension contribution, plane ticket one way and return, plus round plane ticket once a year to home country
