ABOUT THE ROLE
The post holder will perform Accounts Payable function, process transactions in the accounting system and maintains accounts payable files for vendors. The post holder will be expected to engage in tasks as required to ensure the achievement of Operation targets ad will be the primary point of contact for questions and assistance regarding entry and payment of invoices for Internews International.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Finance (70%)
- Vendor Management
- Provide support on queries regarding vendor payment history.
- Provide support to other Internews staff also entering invoices.
- Maintain AP vendor master records in accounting system.
- Accounts payable and receivable
- Input invoices into Unit 4 ERP System
- Prepare and enter multi-currency invoices for all payment methods, including review for proper coding and approvals
- Process recurring remittances according to corporate schedule, including payment of invoices entered by others.
- Organize and maintain A/P files.
- Support of commitment accounting and purchase order monitoring
- Review and research open payables to resolve outstanding issues prior to payment.
- Processing and posting Prepayment before month-end close.
- Debtor and Creditor reconciliations and Advances (Cards) before month-end close
- Account reconciliation
- Income & Expenditure Recording in the accounting system
- Input Bank transaction data and process Bank reconciliations monthly
- Balance Sheet Reconciliations including Payroll and Bank Reconciliations before month-end close.
- Maintain Asset Register incl Additions and Disposal, Monthly Depreciation calculation and posting the journals into the accounting system.
- Annual closing & Statutory Audits
- Support in preparing Statutory and Donor Audits
- Support Operation Manager and Finance team during accounting Audit to prepare a company’s year-end financial statement
Operation & General Administration (30%)
- Grant management
- Support in processing payment and expense reimbursements
- Support in processing financial reports from partners, and posting these to the accounting software
- Support in producing regular reports
Operation & Organisation
- Support the Operation Manager in additional projects oversight required.
- Oversight for general office and facilities management
PERSON SPECIFICATION
Essential
- Professional qualification, or relevant degree:
- Accounting or Finance degree or qualified by experience
- 5+ years progressively complex accounting experience
- Finance & Accounting skills
- Good understanding of key accounting principles and standards (from general ledger entries to the compilation of financial statements)
- Mastering of bookkeeping process (ensure that financial data is current, comprehensive, and organized for analysis)Good understanding of Financial Reports, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
- Ability to use ERP software (managing financial records, automating processes, and generating reports)
Communication
- Effective Verbal, Written and Non-Verbal Communication
- Good interpersonal skills including the ability to be flexible and adaptable, working as part of a small team, and remotely
Organisation & Time management
- Proficiency in organizing tasks and managing time wisely
- Ability to prioritise and to meet deadlines (candidate may need to balance several projects at once)
- Accuracy and attention to detail
- Excellent English and French written and spoken skills
Desirable
- Good knowledge of France NGO regulations
- International NGO working experience
- Good understanding of finance regulations and systems
- Other languages i.e., Russian, Arabic
