Payroll Officer- The Hague

Job Summary

The Payroll Officer is a key part of our HR team, responsible for making sure payroll runs smoothly for INSO’s Headquarters and international staff (about 150 people) across different countries. This includes ensuring accurate pay, maintaining payroll records, coordinating with external payroll service providers, and staying on top of legal and labor requirements.

You’ll also be the go-to person for anything payroll-related, offering support to employees, managers, and program offices. Working closely with the Country Offices, HR team, and Finance Department, you’ll help make sure the entire payroll process is efficient and hassle-free.

Expériences / Formation

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Process payroll monthly for HQ and international staff, ensuring 100% accuracy in salaries, deductions, and tax compliance.
  • Coordinate with Country Offices to consolidate international payroll, validate inputs, and ensure compliance with policies and audits.
  • Manage payroll reporting, maintaining accurate records, archiving reports, and submitting reconciliations to Finance.
  • Handle staff insurance, overseeing reconciliations, invoicing, and payments in collaboration with Finance.
  • Ensure timely payments, resolve banking discrepancies, and distribute e-payslips efficiently.
  • Support HRIS updates and contribute to payroll-related projects for improved data accuracy.
  • Advise managers and staff on payroll policies, employment law, and compliance.

Requirements

Essential:

  • 2+ years of payroll experience with an interest in HR area development.
  • Understanding of Dutch labor laws and taxation to ensure compliance.
  • Experience with HR systems and payroll software (HRIS knowledge preferred).
  • Proficient in Excel and comfortable working with spreadsheets and reports.
  • Skilled in database management and HRM systems for accurate record-keeping.
  • Legal right to work in the EU
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field from a recognized institution.

Desirable

  • Dutch language skills
  • French language skills
  • Experience within an NGO or international organization

Salaire

Fixed-term (renewable) full-time contract based in The Hague, Netherlands, €4800 per month (based on 40 hours work week), 8% vacation pay (vakentiegeld), 2.5 days annual leave per month. We also provide health insurance with ONVZ.
