WHO WE ARE AND WHAT WE DO
The Humanitarian Logistics Cooperative (also known as ‘hulo’) is the first humanitarian cooperative to connect humanitarian organizations and pool resources to optimize logistics and the supply chain.
Its aim is to increase the impact of humanitarian aid by strengthening links and solidarity between those involved in humanitarian logistics and by improving performance through the pooling of resources and expertise in logistics and the supply chain.

Hulo was established in June 2021 and today has a permanent team of around forty people based in several countries. We anticipate significant growth in the coming months, as has been the case since the launch of the Cooperative. We are working dynamically to grow this Cooperative and its impact, with daily challenges around innovation, structuring and continuous improvement of our business.
ABOUT THE ROLE
This is an exciting opportunity to join the growing Hulo team in a new position as a Project Officer (PO). The role provides the opportunity to work across the spectrum of Hulo’s projects as part of a motivated and dynamic team.
The main objective of the Project Officer position within the Hulo Cooperative is to support and facilitate the delivery of a range of different Projects across hulo’s departments. The role will work in an agile way with different managers and teams and also ensure information flows to help decision making.
The main challenges for the post holder in this new for hulo, at a time when we are growing, and changing are the need to develop constructive working relationships at a distance with hulo staff members across the world, and quickly adapt to new topics, organisational language and culture.
As with any new role, the requirements will evolve in the first 6-12 months as we embed new structures and ways of working. This presents an opportunity for the postholder to contribute their ideas to this development and co-create the future shape of the position.
In the first few months of the role, the PO will orientate themselves with hulo’s broad range of projects and establish themselves as a proactive and value-adding team member. They will get to know in detail the hulo transformation workstream and its projects, sufficient to explain it to others and connect the dots on useful points of information and learning
Under the direct supervision of the Strategic Projects Lead, you will be responsible for:
Mission 1: Transformation workstream support
- Support the organisation, structure and management of the Transformation workstream.
- Maintain project administration and information management.
- Proactively work with each of the project leads to gather and share information that helps decision making.
- Support the Strategic Projects Lead in other areas of Project Management as needed, including administration, budgets and procurement, monitoring and reporting.
- Organise meetings, take minutes, and follow up on decided actions, prepare reports, presentations, and project documents.
- Facilitate communication between project teams and stakeholders.
Mission 2 : Project management support
- Work with the Strategic projects Lead and the other Project Leads to introduce, refine and embed project management and administration tools and methods fit for purpose for the diverse range of projects we deliver.
- Research and trial new approaches as needed.
- Complement the work of the Project Leads, stepping up / in as needed to ensure projects are supported and on track.
- Capture feedback and learning from stakeholders on new ways of working to refine the project management approaches in hulo.
Mission 3: Marketing and business development support
- Support the new marketing and business development activities in the coming period, including creating activity definitions, pricing and communications materials as needed and in coordination with specialist staff.
- Support new opportunity development, which may include research, concepts and pitches, aligned to the activities and impact which hulo delivers.
- Engage appropriately and professionally with third parties supporting hulo’s marketing and business development.
Mission 4: hulo’s community and membership work support
- Act as a focal point for the organisation and administration of stakeholder discussions and interviews, supporting the Project Lead to ensure the work progresses well.
- Capture, synthesise and analyse information gathered from the community discussions and fora, extracting trends and insights for the management team.
- Feed insights into relevant projects and teams to inform decision making and shape hulo’s work.
- Support the onboarding and orientation of new organisations into hulo’s work, connecting them with the right teams and information, supporting them with a strong ‘customer-oriented’ approach.
- Support the development of a contacts database, populating and maintaining information according to stakeholder groups / types.
Mission 5: Agile organisational support
- Work according to specific needs across hulo’s departments.
- Provide ad hoc support for activities and the realization of certain projects or sub-projects, based on needs and priorities
ABOUT YOU
You will be a highly motivated and hard-working team player with a track record of delivering to deadlines. You will be comfortable working in a busy role, with multiple, changing priorities and used to thinking on your feet. You might have experience working in the non-profit sector already, or you are passionate to take your first steps in this area and grow your knowledge of the international development and humanitarian sector.
Expériences / Formation
Specific skills & Experience:
- Master’s degree in economics, Political Sciences, Business Administration, Project Management, international development or another relevant field.
- At least 2 years’ professional experience in a similar position.
- Experience in an international development / humanitarian organization OR a not for profit would be an advantage but is not essential
- Excellent attention to detail, able to consolidate and analyze information, and to make connections
- Experience in supporting multiple Projects simultaneously, comfortable managing and prioritizing a diverse and busy workload
- Knowledge of OR experience in a range of project management tools and approaches
- Excellent communicator, with a high level of written English
- Proactive and motivated, takes the initiative to support and enable others
- Ability to work well both autonomously and with direction
- Comfortable in seeking direction and support when needed
- Excellent organisational & interpersonal skills
- Ability to work with MS Office, espec. Excel, collaboration tools
- Knowledge of Miro, online events tools and powerBI would be an advantage but is not essential.
Salaire
HULO WILL OFFER YOU THE FOLLOWING CONDITIONS
A full-time salaried position
- Based in Montreuil, France, with the possibility of working remotely.
- French Law employment contract, from June 2025 to 31/12/26.
- Salary conditions:
- Gross annual salary: €37.5K over 13 months
- 22 RTT and 25 days of paid leave per year
- AXA insurance, 100% covered by hulo
- Transportation home/Office: 50% covered by hulo
- Ticket restaurant : face value of 8€, 60% paid by hulo.
- Specific conditions and aptitudes: sitting for long periods, oral expression, screen work, telephone contacts.
