Sexual Reproductive Health and Rights Specialist – Flexible Location

JOB CONTEXT:

HI is a leading actor in disability inclusion in the health sector, with a focus on equitable access to health information and services and disability inclusive programming. HI has an extensive experience in Sexual and Reproductive Health and Right and Disability Inclusion and implements inclusive SRHR projects globally in partnership with major SRHR service delivery INGOs, local partners including Organisations of Persons with Disabilities, and country governments.

HI is looking for a dynamic disability inclusive SRHR specialist.

YOUR MISSION:

The SRHR specialist provides technical support to the Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights project portfolio including the Saving Lives in Sierra Leone project implemented in collaboration with Concern Worldwide with financial support of FCDO,  the WILADA project aiming at a disability-inclusive SRH, and the Maternal Health program in Lebanon, implemented with Médecins du Monde (MdM) under ECHO funds, as well as the multi-country program across Syria, Lebanon, and Yemen, aiming to enhance access to SRH and GBV services for women and adolescent girls with disabilities. In this context, his/her responsibilities are as follows :

 

Responsibility 1: Technical Support :

  • Develop and roll-out tools, resources, and trainings to improve disability inclusive program implementation.
  • Provide technical and programmatic support to build the capacity of in- country teams on Disability Inclusive SRHR Participate in the development and monitoring of technical work plans and budgets; ensure appropriate levels of technical assistance in program interventions; coordinate partners’ efforts in program implementation.
  • Undertake regular technical supportive supervision, mentoring and monitoring visits to project sites as necessary.
  • Work with and provide technical leadership and support to relevant project staff for effective program planning, implementation and

Responsibility 2: Definition of Technical frame

  • Lead on the internal dissemination of HI’s Disability Inclusive SRHR policy paper
  • Contribution to the elaboration, dissemination and implementation of the SRHR strategic action plan
  • Identify and cultivate synergies and opportunities for collaboration with the relevant technical divisions and technical sectors within the organization

Responsibility 3: Continuous learning and knowledge management

  • Work with the country teams to systematically document all processes, tools and lessons learned and liaise with other senior project staff in order to identify areas of improvement
  • Explore and take advantage of opportunities to share/disseminate HI’s SRHR program evaluations results
  • Assists in preparing donor progress reports
  • Facilitate knowledge generation and lessons learnt events within HI and with relevant stakeholders through, publications, webinars and other knowledge sharing forums.
  • Share and disseminate internally HI’s SRHR knowledge, skills and know-how
  • Lead the knowledge management related to SRHR programming, and assuring that a lessons learned mechanism is elaborated and fully functional
  • Development and contribution to new SRHR related resources and publications
  • Contribute to and facilitate cross-geographies and cross-program learning

Responsibility 4: Networking, Influencing  and representation

  • Promote externally HI’s visibility, capacity and know-how in the field of SRHR
  • Active participation in international networks on Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights

Responsibility 5: Provide technical support for SRHR business development opportunities

  • Contribute to proposal development and project design for inclusive SRHR country and regional operations

 

ACCESSIBILITY OF THE POSITION:

The position can be based at our headquarters (France or Belgium) or at our national associations (in the UK or in Germany, Canada or the USA, for example) or at Program Level (60 countries).

Expériences / Formation

Education: Holder of a Master’s degree in Public Health or a background in public health.

Experience: At least 5 years of experience in sexual and reproductive health and rights in low- and middle-income countries (LMIC).

Technical Expertise: Deep understanding of the key issues surrounding disability inclusion, with extensive experience in promoting health equity and mainstreaming disability inclusion across various sectors through a human rights-based approach.

Medical Background: Experience in the medical field (e.g., physician, midwife, nurse).

Preferred Experience: Experience in Gender-Based Violence (GBV) is preferred.

Complex Project Management: Proven experience in implementing complex, high-financial-volume projects involving multiple stakeholders. You demonstrate excellent strategic and analytical thinking while adhering to tight deadlines.

Language Skills: Excellent oral and written communication skills in English. Proficiency in French is preferred, and Spanish is a plus.
